Otter turns speech into written notes. Its free Basic plan includes 300 monthly transcription minutes, live transcription, speaker identification, recording playback, AI chat about your meetings, and apps for iPhone and Android. It can also join Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet calls.
The catch: you can import only 3 audio or video files, ever on Basic, and AI chat is limited to 20 questions a month. So it's best for recording live, not for uploading a pile of old recordings.
What Pro costs
Pro is $16.99 a month billed monthly, or $8.49 a month on the yearly plan. It adds 1,200 recording minutes, 10 file imports a month, meetings up to 90 minutes, and more export options.
Students and teachers with a .edu email get 20% off Pro: Otter lists $13.59 a month, or $6.67 a month billed yearly ($79.99).
Is free enough?
