Is Suno free? Making AI songs without paying

What you get free

Suno turns a short description, like "a cheerful birthday song for my sister Ann who loves gardening", into a full song with singing. Its pricing page lists these on Free: Suno's free model, 50 credits a day, standard features and a shared queue (you wait your turn).

Suno's help center says the 50 free credits come back once a day, at a set time in UTC (London time, more or less). Unused credits don't carry over.

What the free plan won't do

This is the part most people miss. The free plan lists no monthly song downloads, no commercial rights, no extra credit purchases and no stem separation (splitting the voice from the music).

So free is fine for playing a song to someone inside Suno or sharing a link. If you want to use a song in a business video, a paid ad or anything you earn money from, you need a paid plan, and Suno's pricing page points you to its terms of service for the limits.

What Pro and Premier cost

Pro is $10 a month, or $8 a month billed yearly. It gives 2,500 credits a month, Suno's better models, 20 song downloads a month and commercial use rights.

Premier is $30 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, with 10,000 credits a month, 60 downloads a month and Suno Studio, its music editing tool. Beginners don't need it.

Should you pay?

Start free and make a few songs for fun. Pay only if you need to download songs regularly or use them for a business. If you need a spoken voice rather than a song, see Is ElevenLabs free?.

The bottom line

Suno's free plan is one of the most fun ways to try AI: describe a song and hear it a minute later. Just know the catch before you plan a birthday video around it: free songs stay inside Suno, and they're for personal use only.
