How Gamma's free credits work
Gamma uses credits for its AI features. Creating a presentation with AI is charged per slide and per image, and things like editing with its AI agent or trying new layouts also use credits. Gamma says longer, more complex requests use more.
Free plan: 400 credits when you sign up. They don't refresh. You can earn 200 credits per friend who signs up with your referral link, up to 2,000 credits held at once.
Good news: once credits run out, you can still edit your slides by hand. Gamma doesn't charge credits for AI errors.
What paid plans add
Paid plans refill credits every month. For example, Gamma says its monthly Plus plan includes 1,000 credits a month, and unused plan credits roll over up to twice your plan size. Paid users can also buy extra credits. See Gamma's pricing page for current prices.
Making 400 credits go further
Because you pay per slide, ask for fewer slides. A 6-slide deck costs less than a 15-slide one. Write your outline first so the first try is close to right, then fix small things by hand instead of regenerating.
