Is Gemini safe? Privacy settings explained simply
Gemini is safe for everyday questions, emails and planning, as long as you keep private details out. Google says human reviewers read some chats, so it asks you not to enter anything confidential. You can turn off Keep Activity or set chats to auto-delete.

What Google says happens to your chats
According to Google's Gemini privacy help page, human reviewers (including trained reviewers from Google's service providers) review some chats to improve the service. Google's own advice: don't enter confidential information you wouldn't want a reviewer to see.
By default, your Gemini activity is auto-deleted after 18 months. You can change that to 3 months, 36 months, or keep it indefinitely.
How to keep it more private
Turn off Keep Activity in Gemini's settings, or use a temporary chat. Google says even then, chats are kept with your account for 72 hours so the service works and can recover from failures.

Is it safe for scams?
The real risk is fake apps and sites pretending to be Gemini. Use gemini.google.com or Google's official app, and be wary of anything asking you to pay to "unlock" Gemini. The free plan is explained in Is Gemini free?.
